Windows Server 2008 RC2 setup review and notes – Installation

booting from the DVD (or ISO file in this case) Windows is loading files:

Detailed explanations of each edition here, but it comes down to a cost issue and your needs. Note here that 32 bit is no longer availble  as of 2008 R2.

We’re doing a clean build here but upgrading is an option albeit one I don’t recommend in most cases, select advanced:

This is where you can setup your partitions and drives. For this build we’re just going to go ahead and setup on our IDE disk.

You should see how fast the “copying files” step goes by when your installing from an ISO file:

You must set a password. There is no default password.
